A yeast infection is a variety of bacterial overgrowth that is a consequence of a yeast called candida. The proper term for a yeast disorder is candidiasis and typically occurs in moist and warm areas of the body, predominantly the mouth, sex organs and digestive system. Yeast infections happen for a variety of reasons. Important factors are things such as pregnancy, stress, and other hormonal changes in the body such as menstruation can lead to an infection. Some prescription medications, particularly antibiotics, and disorders that lower the defenses of your immune system can also result in a candida overgrowth. Yeast can multiply quickly in individuals who have a diet high in refined sugars and carbohydrates and other yeast laden foods. Other causes can include clothing made from synthetic fabrics which traps moisture or using any type of vaginal perfume that increases the chances of yeast developing.
There are several common symptoms associate with candidiasis. An infection in the vagina, for example, may bring on inflammation or bothersome irritation in and around the vagina. Redness and swelling may occur on the outside of the vaginal area, and many women will suffer pain when they pee or take part in sexual activity. In very unpleasant cases a strong burning sensation will also be present. It is not uncommon for many women to also experience a thick discharge from the vagina that will be either pale yellow or white.
As you would expect, thrush in the mouth may cause burning or pain in the mouth and throat, and there may also be white pimples that appear in the oral cavity. As with other types of yeast infection the infected area will become sore and red. If you end up with a yeast infection in your gastrointestinal system then this will result in general discomfort, gas and bloating.
Fortunately, there are many powerful home remedies for yeast infections. Crucially, holistic treatments are usually more successful than prescription medications because they don’t carry the adverse side effects associated with prescribed meds. In particular, you should be very careful about the use of antibiotics. Antibiotics have the unfortunate side effect of destroying both good and bad bacteria and once that happens the Candida yeast can rapidly multiply, adversely altering the internal chemistry of your body.
One of the most common natural options for yeast infections affecting women is a vinegar douche. Vinegar helps to balance the acidity in the body. Women experiencing mild attacks may pour a few spoons of vinegar into a bathtub filled with warm water and soak for thirty minutes. A yogurt douche is also considered an effective treatment because yogurt is very good at restoring the bacteria balance in the vagina.
Another very widely used and effective treatment is tea tree oil. Apply some oil to a sterile pad and place onto the vaginal area for a few hours and
replaced Two or three|three or four} times daily. A garlic clove placed into the vagina for a few hours a day and repeated for three days is excellent in fighting the yeast as well.
A yeast infection may be irritating and uncomfortable, but by implementing safe, dependable, natural treatments, you can easily find quick, long lasting relief.
