If you have experienced hair loss for yourself, you know how distressing it can be. What can make things worse is once you know that you are losing more hair than normal, the simple worry about the cause and how to cover up that ever increasing thin patch on your scalp can increase your stress levels and exacerbate the problem.
In our daily lives we all experience ranging levels of tension and stress, with some of us coping better than others. If, over a period of time, our body is no longer able to cope with the stress levels it is exposed to, one of the ways it can react and tell us that things need to change is to cause hair loss.
Stress can be caused by many things. Perhaps your workload is too much, perhaps the children have been getting on your nerves all day. Or it could just be that you are worried about a family matter. Whatever the cause, it is not possible to avoid stress altogether. What you can do as a solution though is to take time out for yourself on a regular basis to de-stress.
As an idea, try a relaxing massage. Maybe take some time out and read a book. Even treating yourself to a manicure or pedicure can be just enough pampering time to cause your stress levels to decrease back to normal. Whatever de-stress solution you find, you need to make sure that you allocate some regular time so that you can keep your stress levels in check and decrease the chance of stress being the cause of your hair loss.
Finally, if your hair loss is stress related the good news is that it is more than likely to be temporary. In which case, some people stress hair loss and hair growth products are the best solution for your problem. But take things one step of a time. Consult your doctor to ensure that stress is the only trigger, and then select a treatment that you feel is right for you.

For men, losing hair can be a distressing experience. However baldness is socially acceptable. In fact some men even though they have a full head of hair, opt to shave their heads completely to fit their image. For women though things are different. You don’t see bald women very often. And for women who do lose their hair, it is a very traumatic experience.
The most common cause of female hair loss is hormonal changes in the body. We all know that pregnancy, menopause or starting or stopping birth control pills can have a huge affect on women’s hormones. In such cases, hair loss or thinning may occur immediately or over a period of time following the change. Then it can take some time, even up to one year, for hair to regrow.
Diet is another leading contributory factor to hair loss. Crash dieting to lose weight may worsen the situation. Instead, try to avoid this type of dieting and work to improve your diet and lifestyle with regular exercise, eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and drinking more water.
Scalp massaging can also help counteract hair loss by increasing and stimulating the blood flow to your hair follicles.
Remember that even though female hair loss is a very distressful experience, there are plenty of organizations that can help you cope with your situation. More than likely it may be a temporary situation. The sooner you can identify the cause, the sooner you can start the correct treatment.

There are many causes of hair loss that effect both men and women. Some causes are more predominantly seen in men, while others are typical of women. An example of a major hair loss cause which affects both sexes is poor diet.
In order for you to have strong and healthy hair your body needs a lot of vitamin B6, B12, C, and E. If you have a deficiency in one of these vitamins then you may experience hair loss. Therefore if you suspect that poor diet is the cause of your hair loss, you should try including lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, drinking lots of water and adding more dairy products and poultry.
Stress is another cause for hair loss in both men and women. Our bodies can tolerate a certain level of stress, but anything over this tolerance level will have a detrimental effect. Hair loss is one of the ways the body tells us that our stress level is too high.
Although many reasons for hair loss are not due to an underlying medical problem, there is still a possibility that there could be something wrong that needs more treatment than just a change in diet or lifestyle. So if you are losing more hair than you would normally expect to, it is recommended to consult your doctor to ensure that there isn’t any underlying medical problem.
For example, if you are taking medication, your hair loss could be one of the side effects, and in which case it may be possible for your doctor to switch you to a different medication.
If it is established that a medical reason is the cause for your hair loss, then most conditions will be easily treated, although it may mean that you have to take some form of medication for the rest of your life.
For those who suffer from hair loss, the experience can be traumatic, Unless you have experienced it for yourself, it is hard to appreciate what the sufferer is going through. One thing to remember though is no matter which cause you have identified as being the factor for your hair loss, it is usually a temporary phase and can be treated.
