There are some people who can’t wait to get up in the morning and go running or get to the gym and start working out. But then there are others who just can’t seem to stay motivated enough to finish a fitness program they start, usually because they are doing something they hate or are bored with. Break the boredom by mixing it up. Nothing is more boring than doing the same thing over and over each day. Create two or three different workouts for yourself so that you can interchange them to keep things interesting. You could even do a different workout each day if you like, as long as you get the most from the exercises that you choose.

Setting realistic goals is so important. If you think you can lose the weight in a week, you are not being fair to yourself and are setting yourself up for failure. Set small goals here and there, in all areas of your workout. If you want to run five miles a day, start with one and work up to it. This is more encouraging in the long run and gives you a new goal to reach for every week.

You are not going to get complete all of your fat burning right away, and there will be days when you want to throw in the towel.
