As it is evident after years of trial and error we now know that cigarette smoking is a health hazard that is resposible for cancers, heart attacks and strkes.. However, there are nearly 5.5 trillion cigarettes manufactured annually and over 1.1 billion people smoke cigarettes. Due to the health risks involved, many smokers want to quit and are looking for an easy way to stop smoking. Several ways are available to an individual to quit this habit.

Finding out the reasons behind why someone smokes is the very first step in to quitting smoking. In most cases triggers such as memotional stress, fatigue and frustration over some matter is the cause. That is why through therapy, meditation and rest the individual should avoid triggers or root cause situations. The next in line of course is to seek support from family and friends. Joining support groups and therapy sessions are a good way of trying to quit smoking. These sessions are especially catered so that people can gain understanding of what is happening in their life and possibly open a doorway to overcome habits.

WHO however, has little recognition over electronic cigarettes. Other ways of stop smoking have been listed down as smokeless tobacco, herbal cigarettes and drugs and medication to keep the user off cigarettes.

If you are a smoker, you are most probably on the verge of experiencing physical and mental side effects of it. Bear in mind that quitting smoking is a personal experience that works out in different ways for different people. Generally, the quitting process would take some effort and a lot of will power.
